Hi, I am Dr. Joe Repay, MD. 👋🏼 I joined Wellspan Medical Services in 2018 so I could serve people like you, the residents of Naples and surrounding areas. I want to recognize the Founder of my practice, Dr JP van Dongen, because he is a wonderful colleague, friend and mentor. Dr JP was instrumental in providing guidance for carrying on the legacy of excellence for our premier concierge practice in Southwest Florida.
I am a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician and licensed Physical Therapist with several years’ experience in Hospital Medicine, Primary Care, and Outpatient Orthopedic rehabilitation. What does that mean for you? It means that I have a lot of experience when it comes to keeping people, like yourself, in optimal health. And that is what we all want, right?
I was raised in Ogden Dunes, IN, which is a small beach town on the southern tip of Lake Michigan. I was blessed growing up the oldest of four children with very dedicated parents, and a much bigger and very close extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. In this environment I had many role models and mentors who instilled in me the “Midwest” values of hard work, dedication, compassion, gratitude, and strong sense of family that continue to define and guide both my personal life, and professional practice as a physician.
Professionally, I am also very involved with NCH, and will continue to be part of the positive growth of this system to ensure my patients continue to have the quality care they deserve in this community. I am also dedicated to the continued pursuit of medical knowledge in order provide the most effective and up to date care and advice possible.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Nicoleta, who is also an Internal Medicine Physician, as well as a full time mom. We are the parents to two wonderful kids, Ava Rose and Niko Joseph. In our free time, we enjoy an active lifestyle here in southwest Florida.
When I was in Medical school, I kept reminding myself that the sacrifices I was making would someday translate to people leading better lives because of my expertise and guidance. I really enjoy helping motivated people invest in their most precious asset in order to really thrive instead of merely surviving. In the current environment of volume-based health care in U.S. where most primary care practices see upwards of twenty patients daily, our practice remains focused on quality and relationship-building by maintaining a much smaller patient panel, which allows us the opportunity to really get to know our patients.
